Daños en las tuberías de los baños, paredes derrumbadas, cables defectuosos… después de más de 35 años de funcionamiento, el dormitorio „Paula Montal de la Italia“ tuvo que hacer frente a diversos daños estructurales. Unas 20 jóvenes de comunidades rurales viven en la residencia de la pequeña ciudad de San José del Palmar mientras van a la escuela en San José.
Para mejorar la calidad de vida de las colegialas, era necesario realizar urgentemente grandes reparaciones. Se repararon las instalaciones sanitarias, se renovó la infraestructura eléctrica, se reconstruyeron las paredes y se pintaron los muros para que el dormitorio luzca con nuevo esplendor y las residentes puedan volver a sentirse realmente cómodas. Además, las obras han aumentado la capacidad del dormitorio para acoger a más chicas.
Nota: Las obras se retrasaron por la pandemia del Covid y las dinámicas resultantes.
