Um die negativen Auswirkungen der Corona-Pandemie zu reduzieren, hat die Diözese Istmina-Tadó mit Unterstützung von CASA HOGAR und dem Kindermissionswerk Bildungs- und Freizeitaktivitäten durchgeführt. Dabei wurde Kindern unter der Leitung einer Gruppe von Fachkräften, darunter Freizeitpädagog:innen, Krankenpflegekräften und Sozialarbeiter:innen, die Bedeutung des Virus im alltäglichen Leben und der richtige Umgang damit näher gebracht. Fokus war hierbei die psychologische Begleitung in dieser schwierigen Zeit.
Die Freizeitaktivitäten des Projekts wurden nicht nur in Istmina, sondern auch in 8 weiteren, abgelegenen Gemeinden in Chocó durchgeführt.
Das Projekt zielte auch darauf ab, die Lehrkräfte in den Schulen von Istmina in der Verwendung von Methoden für digitale Bildung und Fern-Unterricht auszubilden. Außerdem sollte die Gemeinschaft im Allgemeinen für Themen wie Kindesmissbrauch, sexueller Missbrauch und die Bedeutung eines guten Zusammenlebens zu Hause in Zeiten der Pandemie sensibilisiert werden.
